The Hibaku Pianos

Many people are unaware that there are pianos that survived both the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings in 1945, but there are in fact six of these pianos. These six pianos are collectively known as the ‘Hibaku Pianos’ and one of them was played at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert back in December 2017. The Hibaku piano that was played at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert is a Yamaha upright piano that was built in 1938. Continue reading “The Hibaku Pianos”
