Beethoven in the South
Beethoven concerts are a fairly common occurrence, but you don’t often find them in the rural South of England. This week however, there will be a performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no 4 in The Strode, Theatre Street (BA16 0AB). The Orchestra playing is the Mid-Somerset Orchestra and they are bound to give audience members a night to remember.
Beethoven and Friends
Alongside Beethoven’s ‘Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No 4 in G’, there will be four other items on the programme. All five of the pieces of music in the concert are musical gems and will give every single member of the audience an incredibly pleasurable evening. Beethoven will be played between pieces by Nicolai, Shostakovich, Ravel, and Tchaikovsky. If you are interested in attending this super-sounding concert then you will be pleased to know that ticket prices range from just £3 for under 18s to full price at £12. The concert will take place on Saturday and will begin at 7:30pm. For more information about the evening, have a look on the official mid-Somerset Orchestra website.
Concert pianists practise on digital pianos
Something that not everybody knows, is that concert and solo pianists often practise on a digital piano. While they play concert grand pianos in concert, it isn’t easy to fit an instrument of that size and grandure into an ordinary house. Luckily, many digital pianos such as the brand new Kawai KDP-110, Kawai ES110, and the Yamaha P125 have the sound of a concert piano but not the size. It is on electric pianos like these that the professionals often find themselves practising at home, which makes their lives much easier! If you would like to follow in the footsteps of the professional pianists and get yourself an electronic piano then head over to the Chase Direct website where you will find all of the latest models at unbeatable prices.
