See the Solarek Piano Trio Tomorrow in London
Tomorrow, there is a lunch time concert which is sure to please. The Solarek Piano Trio will be performing in Charlton House, London at 1pm and they have a super programme lined up. The best thing about this concert is that it is free! All you need to do is make sure you show up to Charlton House (SE7 8RE) in plenty of time for the 1pm start, and you will be treated to some wonderful music.
The Solarek Piano Trio
The Solarek Piano Trio is made up of Diana Brekalo, Marina Solarek, and Miriam Lowbury on violin, cello, and piano. Apparently, the trio are particularly well known for having informative and entertaining introductions as well as a friendly atmosphere. The programme of music starts with ‘Fantasiestücke’ by Robert Schumann, and is then followed by ‘Kleines leichtes Trio in F major’ by Johanna Senfter. The third item on the programme is the interestingly named ‘Sometimes I feel like a motherless child’ from Five Negro Melodies, arranged for piano trio, written by Samual Coleridge-Taylor. The concert ends with ‘D’un matin de printemps’ composed by Lili Boulanger.
This trio of piano, violin, and cello is not seen in concert an awful lot, so this is a great chance to see and hear some lesser played arrangements in real life. The Solarek Trio might in fact inspire you to get playing along with some of your string playing friends.
