Sir Anthony Hopkins – An Unlikely Pianist
Most of us know Sir Anthony Hopkins for portraying Hannibal Lecter in the Silence of the Lambs films and his work in Shakespeare plays. Last week, it transpired that Hopkins is also a competent pianist as well as an Oscar winning actor.
Yet Another Talent from Anthony Hopkins
Hopkins posted a video to his official Twitter account where he could be seen happily playing the piano. His playing was jovial but clearly quite accomplished and technically sound. The video was taken at the Randolph hotel in Oxford, however nobody seems to be quite sure why exactly Hopkins was in Oxford on this occasion. Sources have speculated that his visit may have had something to do with his Oxfordian co-star Florence Pugh, who will be acting alongside him in his upcoming Shakespearian role in King Lear.
Play Like Anthony Hopkins
If Sir Anthon Hopkins’ somewhat wistful piano playing has inspired you to get playing, then make sure you have the right instrument. If you currently don’t have a piano at all then consider purchasing a digital piano. Unlike an acoustic instrument, there is only ever one payment associated with an electric piano as it will never need tuning! Digital pianos are sampled from the very best concert grand pianos, so they produce an outstanding sound. They also come complete with a host of extra features such as additional piano voices, build in metronomes, recording features, and much more. Another huge bonus to buying a digital piano is that they are far more portable than an acoustic piano. Many models such as the Chase P-50 digital piano come with the option of having an X frame stand. A stand of this nature is easy to collapse and build on demand, meaning the transportation of your piano has never been easier!
